About this tool

Paste your script into this free online teleprompter and it scrolls full screen at your speaking pace — eyes on the lens, no memorizing, no looking off-camera. Set scrolling speed, font size, line height and text width, pick a reading line, and start with a 3-second countdown. Everything runs locally in your browser: no sign-up, no script upload, and your draft is restored automatically the next time you open the page.

Three steps to your first take

1. Paste your script. Leave a blank line between paragraphs — the tool counts characters, paragraphs and estimated speaking time as you type, and each paragraph gets a natural breathing pause while scrolling.
2. Tune the parameters. Speed, font size, line height and text width update the live preview instantly — the preview is an exact scaled-down copy of the full-screen view, so what you see is what you get.
3. Go full screen and read. After the countdown the script scrolls up from below the reading line. Too fast? Press ↓. Rolling now? Press ↑. Press Esc to exit — your script and settings are still there.

Every parameter you actually need

Reading line and countdown

The orange reading line sits at about one third of the screen height — the sweet spot where you look straight at the lens instead of glancing down. Keep the current sentence on the line and your eyeline stays natural on camera. The countdown gives you a window to start recording, switch apps, or take a breath before the first line arrives.

Mirror mode: what it is for

Professional prompters use a sheet of 45° semi-permeable glass in front of the lens, and the text must be horizontally mirrored to read correctly on the glass. Turn on horizontal mirror if you use such a rig; vertical flip serves overhead-mounted reflector setups. Recording straight to a webcam or phone? Leave both off.

Green screen for live streaming

Live sellers overlay a prompter layer on top of OBS or similar software and key it out. Switch the theme to green, capture the full-screen prompter page as a source, and chroma-key the pure green background away — black text stays crisp on any scene. When you're not streaming, plain dark-on-light is the most comfortable for long takes.
